Animation Hotline is a series of daily animations where I use messages left on my voicemail for content. When you get a chance please leave me a message, and honestly it's best if you leave more than one because sometimes what you think is the perfect message might simply be impossible for me to animate in one day. It was one year ago today that I started working on the Animation Hotline Project. Thanks so much for participating, or leaving a message or even watching a few of them! Since then I've created eighty-five new animations and have received hundreds of messages that I still want to animate.

The big news most recently is that it's been included to screen as a part of a feature film at the Cannes Film Festival in late May. The topic of the film is 'The Other' and I'm sending out a request for people to leave messages that use 'The Other' as the concept behind the message (I'm putting a more detailed description of what 'the other' might mean at the bottom of the email). If you participate, please leave your name because for this one I am going to need to get a signed waiver. I'll need to put you in the credits of the film!!!

'The Other' is sort of a tough concept, but once you get it the whole thing sounds very simple. It is in reference to any time you felt like and outsider, or any story dealing with anytime anyone felt outside of the 'in-group'. For example, one of the short films is about people who can't smell, which is a subset of the population that is outside the 'norm' of people who can smell. So basically it is any story about a moment when you were outside the norm or felt like an outsider, or it could also be a case when you are dealing with the outsider. Try to not say "the other" though, because it is going to be a long film and I'm sure if they hear "the other" a million times it will get pretty annoying.
